Dual Tuner Features and Hardware Platform
The PVR package works in single and double tuner platforms. A double tuner platform authorizes users to watch TV when recording another channel, and use Picture-In-Picture viewing mode. Depending on the hardware performance (tuners, disk, RAM and other video component characteristics) advanced dual features may be unable on a case by case basis. Advanced dual tuner features include:
- Recording on 2 channels simultaneously
- Time shifting one channel and recording another
- Viewing a recorded video while recording another channel
- Simultaneous VCR and Disk recording
Extreme Sequence
Extreme Sequence aims to provide TV viewers with versatile, entertaining and easy to use applications that are specially designed for TV screens. With Extreme Sequence, new generation low cost set top boxes become capable of executing advanced multimedia Tvplets that can be downloaded from Extreme Sequence or independent web sites.
- From the user's PC, TV viewers browse, download and try out Tvplets from independent or commercial web sites.
- Using a simple USB memory stick, external disk or wireless key, user's plug and play tvplets on TV.
- Extreme Sequence requires a USB port and works with low cost receivers
